" I am often asked what motivates me to devote my writing to one of humanity’s darkest periods: historical fiction books about World War II. The answer stems from a deep sense of duty and an inexhaustible fascination with the complexity of the human psyche.
A work of fiction about the Holocaust strikes a delicate balance between absolute respect for historical facts and the gripping freedom of the literary thriller. To weave my stories, I immerse myself in the raw documents of the Holocaust, in survivors’ testimonies, and in the archives on the infamous “Rat Routes” that allowed war criminals to escape after 1945.
